Gator boomeranged back to Salishan (Lois Clough) after his owner decided the destruction of their couch was the final straw in a long list of terrier misadventures. Lois decided that I really needed to see this terrier, who we both had decided was pet quality at 8 weeks of age. One look at this "overweight bundle of happy" and you could see the incredible terrier beneath all that hair and poundage. In his first trial, Gator was Reserve Best Dog Pup. The first time out in the field, he earned his NHC to groundhog. And in 2005's first show of the year in California, Gator was Reserve Working Terrier Champion (both days).
Gator has inherited his father's movement, beautiful head and bone, and working ability, as well as his happy outlook on life. Thank you Lois!
Salishan Talc
Sire: Burford Bicester
Height: 11.75"
Dam: Salishan Tinsel
Color: White
Date of Birth: 10-02
Cerf Clear Feb., 2008
Talc really does not need an introduction. I've always loved Bicester (Talc's sire) and with "Willy" (Sweetgrass Willow), who is another Bicester kid, it only made sense to make a deal with Lois for Talc to come live at Sweetgrass Farm. We now co-own Talc and have plans to use him at stud and to get him out hunting in the fall of '08.
Talc represents a really nice outcross pedigree for Jones-bred terriers with Klaus and Scrap up close in their family tree. So we were especially pleased when he also developed into a handsome terrier with a lovely, happy, non-confrontational personality.
Talc is well under 12.5 inches, has a harsh "Bicester type" coat, and possesses really nice bone and substance combined with good angulation and movement. He is "the perfect package," and we just love having him around. He loves to play flyball, never tries to mix it up with the other terriers, and he has done very nicely for Lois in the conformation ring.
Sweetgrass TJ

Introducing Sweetgrass TJ, who has some very big paws to fill. TJ is the cross that we've waited to do for a very long time. Since Briarpatch Temper is no longer viable, we needed a replacement. The old man has produced some fantastic working, show, and companion terriers for us and we'd like to continue that. "TJ" is by a Temper grandson, out of a Temper daughter, but he looks like his great granddad, Maven's Tailor, one of the most incredible terriers ever and one of the foundation sires for the JRTCA. TJ will be started in the field this summer and we hope he fulfills every expectation.
